Including his uncle, Butch Trucks, who was a drummer for the Allman Brothers Band, Derek’s family encouraged him to explore his interest in music – rightly so!

His exceptional skills brought forward a new dimension to the band’s sound. While on the band, Trucks began to play with seasoned musicians, especially his uncle, Butch Trucks, and rapidly matured as a guitarist with impeccable versatility.
