Essentially, it’s about choosing your path. Trying to be the best in batting and bowling can compromise your growth as a cricketer. Therefore, it’s important that you decide and work towards your goal with utmost conviction. However, before you try to turn your cricketing dreams into a living reality, it’s important that you work on your fitness.

In order to become the next Herschelle Gibbs or the next Shoaib Akhtar, it’s crucial that you work on your fitness. Cricket is a high-intensity game and requires your physical fitness to be at the highest level. It’s also important that you keep pushing yourself and consciously stay away from your comfort zone.

As an aspiring cricketer, always remember that batting follows the “law of averages”. This would mean that chances of you encountering failure is significantly higher than achieving success in the initial stages. Practise with a purpose and always focus on improving your craft.

As a bowler, continuously strive to get better each day. As there are several techniques involved, focus on your fundamentals and practise diligently. At the end of the day, it’s about having fun while pursuing your passion.
